A Day Trip to Wicklow
We decided to do a bus group tour out to Wicklow National Park. It was well worth the experience as we made some stops to some beautiful cities along the way.
The bus picked us up in Dublin, our first stop was in Sandymount Beach, a cute, scenic, beach town along the east coast of Ireland. This looked like the perfect spot for some leisurely beach strolls.
We then headed to the breathtaking valley of Glendalough, located in the Wicklow Mountains National Park. The ruins of the round tower and the beautifully preserved churches transport you back in time. We took a small hike that led us along the tranquil lakes. The site is rich in history and natural beauty, with rolling lush green hills.
The last stop was Wicklow National Park, if you are a hiker and an outdoor enthusiast this is a must see. There are various trails with spectacular views, and a lake with the most majestic views that look as if you are standing in a painting. The rolling hills are covered with beautiful purple heather as well as many other colors that fill the area.
We don’t do many group tours but this was actually a great tour. It was nice to learn from the guide and to explore areas we may have not known about if we would’ve driven ourselves to Wicklow National Park.
Adventure awaits-get out there and explore!
